Audubon Dallas:

As a local chapter of Audubon, Audubon Dallas has as its mission to conserve birds and other wildlife, to protect habitat and biodiversity, and to provide education and opportunities for our entire community to observe and appreciate birds and nature.     www.audubondallas.org

Big Thicket Association:

A long-time advocate of the Big Thicket National Preserve, the Big Thicket Association is supporting expansion of the Preserve, helping the National Park Service conduct an inventory of all Preserve species, and addressing state park, wetlands, and other issues.      www.bigthicket.org

Black Bear Conservation Committee (East Texas Black Bear Task Force):

               The mission of the Black Bear Conservation Committee is to restore the Louisiana black bear to suitable habitat in its historic range through

               education, research, and management of habitat and populations.     www.bbcc.org

Brazos River Conservation Coalition :

               The Brazos River Conservation Coalition monitors and protects water quality, flora and fauna, and the natural beauty of Lake Granbury and its environs

               and the Brazos River in Hood County, through information-gathering, education and advocacy.      www.brazosriverconservation.org

Caddo Lake Institute:

               Caddo Lake Institute is a non-profit scientific and educational corporation with the mission of protecting the ecological, cultural and economic integrity

               of Caddo Lake, its associated wetlands and surrounding plant and wildlife habitats.     www.caddolakeinstitute.us           

Dallas Safari Club :

               Dallas Safari Club is an international non-profit, educational, conservation, and hunter advocacy organization based in Dallas, Texas with an international

               membership of over 4,000.  The club raises and expends funds annually to educate the public and to serve the interests of wildlife, habitat and sportsmen

               and sportswomen worldwide.    www.biggame.org

Environment Texas:

Environment Texas is a statewide, citizen-based environmental advocacy group whose mission is to protect air quality, water quality, and open spaces in Texas.  Its email network routinely reaches thousands of people.    www.environmenttexas.org

Fort Worth Audubon Society:

                An active chapter of National Audubon, Fort Worth Audubon Society’s mission is to promote awareness, appreciation and understanding of

            birds and other wildlife while preserving and protecting their natural habitats.     www.fwas.org

Friends of the Brazos River:

Friends of the Brazos is a group of landowners, boaters, anglers and concerned citizens working to restore the ecological integrity and provide recreational opportunities on the Brazos River, with an emphasis on the Brazos between Lakes Granbury and Whitney.     www.friendsofthebrazos.org

Friends of Caddo Lake National Wildlife Refuge:

     

               Friends of Caddo Lake National Wildlife Refuge is dedicated to increasing awareness, enjoyment and appreciation of the refuge and to conserving

               its native fish, wildlife, and plants for the continuing benefit of the American people.

Friends of the Neches River:

Friends of the Neches River was formed to promote creation of the Neches River National Wildlife Refuge.  With the Refuge established, the group is now taking on other initiatives for the Neches, such as obtaining designation as a National Scenic River.    

Friends of the Nueces River Association:

               Friends of the Nueces River is a group of landowners, boaters, anglers and concerned citizens who seek to preserve and restore the ecological

           integrity of the Nueces River and to provide for safe, environmentally responsible use of the river.    www.nuecesriver.org

Friends United for a Safe Environment (FUSE):

FUSE is a Texarkana-based group that focuses on protecting the Sulphur River, addressing local pollution issues, drawing public attention to projects that harm the area's environment, and addressing other area-wide environmental and social issues.    

Frontera Audubon:

               Frontera Audubon is a private, non-profit organization dedicated to the conservation of the environment of the Lower Rio Grande Valley.

Galveston Bay Foundation:

              The Galveston Bay Foundation’s mission is to preserve, protect and enhance Galveston Bay -- one of the world's most productive estuaries --

               to ensure that the Bay remains a beautiful and productive place for generations to come.   www.galvbay.org

Greater Caddo Lake Association of Texas:

              Greater Caddo Lake Association of Texas protects Caddo Lake, its tributaries, and adjacent wetlands by working with the community to conserve,

               protect, and enhance native fish, wildlife and plants and their habitats.    www.caddolakenews.org

Houston Audubon Society:

One of the largest and most active Audubon chapters in the nation, Houston Audubon owns 17 sanctuaries totaling nearly 3,400 acres of critical habitat for shorebirds, migratory songbirds, waterfowl, and other wildlife.  HAS reaches more than 20,000 children and adults annually through its education programs.     www.houstonaudubon.org

Houston Canoe Club:

               Established in 1964, the Houston Canoe Club unites those interested in the safe canoeing and kayaling for the purpose of conservation, pleasure,

               health, racing and/or exploration.  Monthly meetings are in Houston and paddle trips occur all over Texas and beyond.     www.houstoncanoeclub.org

Outdoor Adventure Club of East Texas:

               The Outdoor Adventure Club of East Texas is an active twelve-year-old group which enjoys and promotes outdoor recreation such as camping, hiking,

               canoeing and backpacking.  The group meets monthly at the TPWD Nature Center in Tyler, TX.     

Plateau Land & Wildlife Management:

               Plateau Land & Wildlife Management is a private consulting firm of wildlife biologists and registered property tax consultants dedicated to assisting

               rural landowners in protecting and enhancing their greatest asset, their land.     www.plateauwildlife.com

Save Open Space (SOS):

               Save Open Space fosters protection of natural and scenic features to meet the demands of Dallas' ever-growing regional population.  Through events

               and education, SOS has helped preserve 3,000 acres of natural space for vibrant, sustainable communities.    www.saveopenspacedallas.org/index.php

Stewardship Aransas:

Stewardship Aransas is comprised of leaders from local conservation groups, master gardeners and naturalists, women's and business clubs, and chambers of commerce in the Rockport-Corpus Christi area.  It focuses on protecting habitat for birds and wildlife as the area's population grows.   

Sulphur River Oversight Society (SOS):

SOS is comprised of landowners, timber industry leaders, sportsmen, businesspeople, and conservationists in northeast Texas.  Formed in

response to proposals to build Marvin Nichols, George Parkhouse, and other new reservoirs, SOS has become a political force for protecting

the Sulphur River and its wildlife habitat.

Texas Black Bass Unlimited:

               The goals of Texas Black Bass Unlimited are the education of youth and the general public in conservation, the protection of Texas fish and fisheries,

               propagation of freshwater fish, and improvement of water quality in Texas lakes, rivers, and streams.    www.tbbu.com

Texas League of Conservation Voters:

     The Texas League of Conservation Voters works to preserve and enhance the quality of life of Texans by making environmental conservation a top priority

     with Texas elected officials, political candidates and voters.     www.tlcv.org

Texas Rivers Protection Association:

               Texas Rivers Protection Association’s mission is to protect the flow, water quality and natural beauty of the rivers of Texas, promote the safe and

               wise use of Texas rivers, promote mutual respect between river users and landowners, and foster respect for diverse natural waterway environments.

Tyler Audubon Society:

               Tyler Audubon Society promotes birding activities and the conservation of wildlife habitat.  The group operates Langley Island Bird and Wildlife

               Sanctuary.  Members meet once a month on the second Tuesday at Pollard United Methodist Church.     www.tyleraudubon.org
